Sun East Federal Credit Union is proud to sponsor Preston & Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger 2026, which helps Philabundance in its mission to fight food insecurity throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey.

And we’re inviting you to join us in making a difference!

Help Us Fight Hunger!

We’re collecting non-perishable food donations at all of our branches to support the weeklong event.

Participating is easy. Simply bring your donations to your nearest Sun East branch by November 14, 2026, and look for the designated Camp Out for Hunger donation box.

Every contribution helps support Philabundance’s efforts to provide nutritious food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in our region.

What Can I Donate?

Philabundance has identified several nutritious, shelf-stable foods that are especially helpful to the communities it serves. Below are the 10 most-needed food donation items:

  • Creamy peanut butter (plastic containers only)
  • Jelly (plastic containers only)
  • Canned tuna and other shelf-stable meats
  • Shelf-stable white milk
  • Canned beef stew and chili
  • Breakfast cereal and hot cereal
  • Nuts and trail mix
  • Whole wheat pasta
  • Brown rice
  • Canned fruits and vegetables (preferably low-sodium and without high-fructose corn syrup)

Important: Donations must be shelf-stable and packaged in boxes, cans, plastic containers, or non-breakable jars. Items requiring refrigeration cannot be accepted.

While donations are appreciated, it’s important to not come with the following items as they cannot be accepted by Philabundance:

  • Beverages of any kind, including bottled water, juice, and sugary drinks
  • Unhealthy snacks, such as potato chips and cookies
  • Seasonal or holiday-specific food items
  • Bread and baked goods that spoil quickly

Following these guidelines helps ensure that Philabundance can efficiently distribute donations to the people who need them most.

Together, We Can Make a Difference!

At Sun East, we believe in the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together for a common cause. We’re honored to support Preston & Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger and Philabundance as they continue their mission to fight hunger throughout our region.

Thank you to our members, employees, and neighbors for helping us make a meaningful impact!
